(j) Tip About Adding New Line

From time to time we got to reline our reels.  Either you just bought a new reel or its time to replace the old line.  The braided line you don’t have to do this with for every other line this will help you.  For one, don’t buy line to big for your reel the capacity is written right on your reel.  I have done it, my friends have done it, put a 12lb test on my reel which is listed as up to 8 lb test and when tried fishing with it I had a problem every 3rd 4th cast.  It would either get knots in it or the line would just fall off the reel. Oh the headaches of doing it so please please dont try it.  Now after you get your new line and its the right size, the problem is the wheel its on is usually bigger than your reel so the line has memory of the size so when you put it on it tends to fall off.  To correct this problem put your new line in the fridge for 24 hours, if you cant wait that long set it in there for as long as you can.  Once your ready put it immediately onto your reel and that’s it, the memory resets to the size of your reel and you will have a lot less problem with your line now. I’ve used this method every time with new line and it works well for me. So try it out you might be surprised.

This is the worst thing while fishing.

(j) Tip For Carp Hair Rigs

To start off im going to introduce a tying method for carp fishing.  I’ve been doing a lot of it recently with catfish fishing.  The carp is usually forgotten but if you would like a good fight then the carp is a great adversary.  Now the best rig, as they say, is a hair rig.  I have been using this one as the other team has been using regular hooks.  Now my impression is they work the same, looking at it I would give the edge to the hair rig, cause you can obviously see that it should work a lot better.  Now im not going to put it all on here word for word, I will give you a link to it as someone else has made one.  I followed it and worked with no problem.  Now the hair rig gives you bait with a bare hook so its easier to hook the carp well the regular way covers the hook and makes it harder to set the hook.  Now towards the end of the video they use something else to hold the boillies on, all I do is take the loop that attaches to the swivel thru the loop where you put the bait on.  You may use any type of fishing line you may want to, I use stren braided line for mine.  Now you don’t have to use boillies for this, I use corn, dough balls, and oatmeal balls with it. Use your imagination.  Then you need to pick up some minnow threading needles, you’ll find them in the fishing supplies,  that way you can attach your bait to the string.  Once on just take your loop off the hair rig and loop it on the line from your hook eye or on your hook to hold the bait on.
